The Maine and New Hampshire Beachgoer Survey was conducted in the Fall of 2014. Respondents were drawn from Charlie Colgan’s 2014 onsite beach-intercept survey of users at beaches in the Saco Bay area, Wells-Ogunquit, and the New Hampshire Seacoast areas. In all, 1259 potential respondents were contacted via email and asked to complete a web-based survey. The final sample included 437 respondents, 366 of whom fully completed the survey.
The survey included 78 thematic questions and an additional 12 demographic questions. The survey was administered using Qualtrics, a web-based survey software tool, and survey results were analyzed using SAS 9.4.
